Hari is the Supreme Consciousness and Shree is the supreme Prakriti the gross nature and also the subtle aspects of the gross Nature due to which the whole cosmos runs. When they are separate, creation does not take place. When they unite, the creation takes place. Shree means prosperity. It is because Shree intended to see prosperity of her own self, the consciousness united with Prakriti for the creation. Creation is all just that original self of pure consciousness.
